We have placed Frances’ work around our space alongside our other wonderful stock and we hope you’ll enjoy the lovely way it all ‘sits together’ as much as we are. On the afternoon of 14th December we will are offering an opportunity to view a display of sketchbooks alongside her finished pieces- and an opportunity to meet Frances and hear her talk informally about her very particular way of working. It is a treat to be able to see how she thinks and develops work and hope you will join us for the afternoon.
MEET THE ARTIST
December 14th between 3-5pm.
The Arthouse Gallery curated a highly successful solo show in September at The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum. Frances currently paints along the Jurassic Coast of Dorset: specifically Charmouth, Seatown and nearby Studland which is at the eastern extent of the World Heritage Site. She sets out in all weathers with acrylic and watercolour alongside the local earths, clays and beach material. Her work has an immediacy and energetic quality about it due her plein air way of working.
Frances has also been selected to show in the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London (November 14-24th) and the 161st Annual Open Exhibition at the Royal West of England in Bristol (24th November- 26 January 2014).
The exhibition continues until the New Year when we have plans to introduce another themed body of work by Frances.
